I saw Nick Cave Soundsuits in Seattle with my Dad earlier this year. Amazing!
Suit up!
Soundsuit (20011), by the fabulous Nick Cave (no, not the one from the Bad Seeds–the other fabulous Nick Cave), who opens his two-gallery show at Jack Shainman and Mary Boone in Chelsea this week. The suits, designed to obscure the sex, race, and in fact all other identifying qualities of the wearer, come alive in wild stomping rhythmic performances that blow the eye and the mind. How can we know the dancer from the dance?
